Why? I am flying in all the way from Vancouver "every single year" to watch and I am more than pleased with the atmosphere and the high level of all dancers at this competition.

Cheers to all.

It would only be positive for all competitiors to be there regardless of what studio they come from.  A competition is a competition thats the bottom line. 2010 there will be the first World Championship held in Toronto, this year the first BDFI congress. There will huge names that have never been to Canada coming to run workshops. It will only be benificial for you to be there. Fact.

Kamil,  if what you say is true  why haven't  more  competitors supported the   historically  well attended   Blue Silver Trophy Ball  competition held the past weekend in Toronto  ?

Is it because the judging  is becoming so predictable that it is boring ?  Perhaps   the dancers need not that extra practice and competition experience before the Crystal Leaf  "extavaganza "   ?

Competition is not a competition any more. ( worth attending )   Unfortunately.  There are still some events worth attending, while   the rest are gradually  sliding down the hill and will disappear,  or run in deficit, unless  a degree of fair-play is given a higer  priority.

Which dancer wants  to spend  moneys,  prepare for,   and  support  competition where teachers mark  their own students,  judge by  a packing order   ?

Isn't dance quality  an important  judging criteria anymore ?

Sorry,  this was our last  Blue Silver... dancers are a nice and a loyal group,  but there is a limit to the patience,  who looks forward to being stepped on,  who wants to pay and see just dance finals.

Crystal Leaf will be grand,  and Blue Silver is a great event !   Unfortunately some dancers and some spectators  see too much wrong with judging,  but think :  Is this something new ?  Is Blue Silver guilty ?  IFjudging  is so flawed,  who is responsible to assure impartiality,  who picks the judges  ?

Sorry Aspirin,  this judging nightmare so many describe  is something dancers will either have to put up with,  as they have been for years....   or dancers need get together somehow and come with some concrete suggestions.

Much has been written about this on this forum,  and no one has come with a  solution ot at least,  everyone is playing dead and lies low,  just happy they manage  to sign on  the minimum number of required judges,  and the motto is,  the cheeper we do it, the better . Is that how you get superior  quality of adjudicators many  gripe about ?

Do you believe it is any better in other countries, or in Europe ?
