Re: Canada proposed ? Canada made a motion ?

DanceBeat reports:
Following are some highlights of the 2008 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the World Dance Council (WDC) :
In his welcome address, Donnie Burns reported that during this past year, the WDC formed an Amateur League as mandated by the WDC at the 2007 AGM.
This was in reference to 2007 Agenda item 17.a. where Canada moved to have the WDC and its member countries form amateur associations.
Canada proposed also (16) a motion that the WDC “support” the efforts of its members in any court actions that members pursue to eliminate restrictive policies regarding sanctioned events.

Did I hear it right ? Canada made a motion ? Canada proposed ?
For better understanding and clarity ….was it the Canadian Prime Minister speaking on his country behalf ? No. Was it a Canadian Dancesport Association , Canadian Dance Federation, CDTA, CDDSC, CADA , or, was some another claiming to represent Canada ?
Was the name of CANADA used with the intent to indicate the sentiment of the Canadian majority , or was it used to just indicate the origin of the motion ?
Is it important to be clear, not confusing, and not misleading ?
An overwhelming majority of Canadian dancesport amateurs already belong to Canadian Amateur Dancesport Association ( CADA ), also a member of International Dancesport Federation ( IDSF). Both association not allowing their amateur members to participate in the competitions held by CDDSC, where CDDSC represents WDC’s interest in Canada.
Using this logic “CANADA” was not represented by CADA in the WDC AGM. Was it CDDSC delegate acting on behalf of Canada ?
CDDCC and CADA do not get along, why would CDDCS make a motion, in another country, to form amateur association(s) which they themselves had failed to control, maintain, and which they do not support in their own country – Canada ?
Has the delegate received a mandate and the confidence and the support of Canadian Amateur dancers majority to make a motion on their behalf, or was it a motion and a proposal , made on behalf of a group of people, representing own interest and own agenda, a proposal which could be potencially used against the very organisation which others are encouraged to form, the amateur association ?
Out of all delegates at the AGM why was “Canada ‘ making the motion ? Was “Canada” perhaps asked to make the motion ? Or, had the delegate from Canada own vision, and made the proposal on behalf of Canada. Was it a motion and a proposal on behalf of the interest of a specific group of people ? Has the interest of the amateur Canadian Dance majority been taken into the account ?
In Canada Canadian Amateurs members of CADA cannot participate in any events not sanctioned by CADA . Since IDSF would probably not welcome WDC forming own amateur association, neither would CADA which follows IDSF.
By making the motion the Canadian delegate at AGM has gone against own country’s already formed amateur dancesport association interest , thus contributing to furthering the division, confusion and upset.
WDC should have not accepted the motion from the Canadian delegate, if no for other reason, but showing sensitivity and respecting the unfortunate and existing division in Canada.
